How Real Simple Reaches Real Women

I recently began following an account on Instagram that I really enjoy called @womenirl (women in real life). They don’t provide new content, they only share what other women are posting that is tagged with #womenirl.

Here are a couple of my favorites from this week:

This account has me laughing every day. I was so impressed with what they were doing, that I decided to investigate. I wanted to know who was behind this brilliant idea. That’s when I learned that the account is being run by Real Simple magazine.

The magazine that shows you life in all of its perfection, created an account to show you the many, many imperfections of daily life.

And it’s brilliant.

The women who read Real Simple magazine are searching for ways to make their lives easier, more organized, and of course, simpler. What better way to reach women striving for simplicity than by connecting with who they really are.

They have children sticking their bodies under the bathroom door and they have protein shakes exploding in the car as they rush off to work while shaking their breakfast.

That’s real life.

And Real Simple magazine can help you control some of the chaos.

Who is your target audience? What are their pain points? How can you connect with them in a more human way?

Stop selling and start connecting.

I know that my opinion of Real Simple just went up several notches.
