Small Business Marketing for St. Patrick’s Day

Today, my family and I went to a local St. Patrick’s Day parade. It’s a massive event and we wanted to find a better parking situation than we had last year.

When I went to the parade website, I saw that a local bar / restaurant called Two Shamrocks was offering a free shuttle. Since the bar is not far from my house, and parking would be free, it seemed like a great option.

When we arrived there was a very long line along with tents and grills and plenty of drinks to enjoy during the wait. When the bus arrived to carry its guests, it had the name of the establishment taped to the windows.

We had fun waiting in line. My husband enjoyed a hot dog and we travelled to the parade with no issues.

The best part of this marketing plan happened once the parade was over. When the bus returned after the parade, it dropped you right in front of the Irish pub so that you can continue the festivities (and the spending) without having to travel anywhere else.

The bus was free. The Guinness was cold. The revelers had a great time and the local business hit a marketing home run.
